Blue Max ARA

I don’t really know much about the units and their operations during the Vietnam War. They saved my ass a few times, so I know that for sure! I started looking up some of the literature written by the those pilots flying overhead in support of the grunts.

I found the following comment interesting. It was written by a reviewer of H. G. Brown’s memoir.

Missions and Memories

“Although during my 1967 tour I thought all the heavy action was up in I Corps, Mr. Brown reports that with his move to III Corps in May, 1968, he encountered more action than earlier in I Corps. This is probably because Quan Loi was close to the Cambodian border (and the infiltration route through Loc Ninh and An Loc) and because post-Tet (January, 1968), the NVA moved into III Corps to replace the Phu Loi Battalion and other VC units decimated during the Tet fighting.”

I know that’s right! This is one of a few topics I have new interest in and will be following up with more info soon.
